رَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ عَلَيْهِ

Huzoor Shaykh Ul Alam Pir Muhammad Alauddin Siddiqui (1938–2017) was born at Nerian Sharif, Azad Kashmir, and raised at the noble feet of his father and Shaykh, Khwaja Ghulam Mohiuddin Ghaznavi. After his father's passing he became the spiritual successor of the Naqshbandi order at Nerian Sharif and grew to be recognised as one of the most senior spiritual leaders of the British Muslim community.

A visionary scholar and tireless servant of people, he founded the Mohiuddin Trust, established Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University — serving as its first Chancellor — and founded the broadcast channel Noor TV. From his base in Birmingham he led Friday congregational prayers, established regular circles of dhikr and one of the nation's first Mawlid processions, and encouraged the building of hundreds of mosques across the UK, while offering guidance and mentorship to countless people.

His services to education, social justice and humanitarian causes were recognised internationally, and he was named among the world's 500 most influential Muslims. He passed away on 3 February 2017 and rests at Nerian Sharif. May Allah elevate his rank. Āmeen.
